Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How many estimates am I required to get before I can have my car repaired?

A: Only one. You have the right to have your car repaired at the facility of your choice. We would be happy to work directly with your insurance company on your behalf.

Q: My insurance company wants me to go to one of their Direct Repair shops. Do I have to?

A: Absolutely Not. You always have the choice of repair shops. You may leave your vehicle at Alvis Body and Frame and have your insurance company inspect it at our facility.

Q: What do you need to begin the repairs on my vehicle?

A: All we need is a claim number from your insurance company. Alvis Body and Frame will handle all of the details of your vehicle’s repair directly with your insurance company.

Q: Do you work on RVs, Trucks or Motorcycles?

A: Yes we do. We have worked on almost anything on wheels including RVs, motorcycles, large vehicles, tow trucks, airplanes, boats, golf carts… You name it.

Q: Is my vehicle safe to drive after an accident?

A: You should never drive a vehicle that is unsafe. Unsafe damage includes, but is not limited to: Steering problems, wheel/tire damage, door does not open/close, broken headlamp/tail lamp, signal. If you think it’s unsafe, it probably is.

Q: Why is your estimate different from other shops I’ve visited?

A: Estimates vary for many reasons. Primarily, estimates vary because they are only an approximation of the damage to your vehicle. When comparing estimates you may notice repair items not included. If you have any question on differences, please ask. At Alvis Body and Frame, we prepare a computerized estimate for you.
